Help Afghan refugees at nearby military bases in New Mexico

The Southern New Mexico Islamic Center is helping the local authorities, organizations and agencies by calling the local communities in Las Cruces and Muslim communities nationally to donate clothing and goods to assist refugees who have fled Afghanistan and awaiting resettlement at nearby military bases.

You can contribute by donating:
• Hair brushes
• Nail clippers
• Tote bags or gym bags
• Small toys for kids
• Long skirts and long pants for women
• Hijabs, all sizes and baggy fit
• Men's long-sleeve shirts
• Men's long pants
• T-shirts
• Children and infant clothing
• Light jackets and windbreakers
• New undergarments for men, women and kids
• Deodorant
• Sanitary pads
• Sandals in all sizes
• Shower slip-on shoes
• Shoes or boots

The donations can be dropped at the Islamic Center, located at 1065 East Boutz Road in Las Cruces, any time of day. Donations can be left at the vestibule entrance if nobody is available. You can donate also using the following link which will be utilized to buy Islamic clothes/prayer rugs, etc. that might not be available in the local market.
